Fourier analysis

Category
DSP
Definition
The study of representing functions or signals in terms of frequency components.
Math Level
TECHNICAL

Fourier analysis studies functions by decomposing or representing them in terms of frequencies.

It turns questions about variation in one domain into questions about frequency content in another. Riemann Console's published positivity work uses this viewpoint because positive definiteness has a particularly strong spectral characterisation.
