Laguerre polynomial

Laguerre polynomials are a classical family of orthogonal polynomials. Associated Laguerre polynomials are commonly written Ln(α)(x)L_n^{(\alpha)}(x).

They satisfy a second-order differential equation and arise in approximation theory, special-function analysis, asymptotic analysis, probability and quantum mechanics. Their large-degree behaviour includes well-studied transition and turning-point regimes.

This glossary entry records only the standard mathematical background. Project-specific Laguerre constructions, threshold relations and asymptotic formulas used inside the private Riemann Console research are intentionally not reproduced publicly. .
