Definition
A proposition accepted temporarily or explicitly as a starting point for an argument.

GENERAL

An assumption is a statement taken as given for the purpose of an argument, model or theorem.

A mathematical conclusion is only as broad as the assumptions from which it was derived. Riemann Console's audit practice therefore looks explicitly for hidden assumptions, especially ones that might quietly contain the result being sought.
