Zero of a function

Category
STANDARD MATHEMATICS
Definition
An input at which a function takes the value zero.
Math Level
GENERAL

A zero of a function is an input at which the function's value is exactly zero.

For the Riemann zeta function, the location of its zeros is central. Some are the well-understood trivial zeros; the others are called non-trivial zeros, and the Riemann Hypothesis makes a precise claim about where all of those non-trivial zeros lie.
